Here it was already 2:30 in the afternoon and I had just finished my workout and needed to recharge and refuel myself for the rest of the day’s events! I knew that we had an early dinner reservation so I didn’t want to indulge in a big meal, but since I had just done a good hour of intense exercise I knew I needed something substantial enough to tie me over until my delicious dinner. I decided on a smoothie. It’s perfect! Doesn’t feel like I am eating a huge amount but definitely makes me feel full and provides instant energy!
The pear will give you energy right away, while the coconut oil and acai will provide a long lasting steady energy. The cucumber will rehydrate you, and the dates contain the potassium that is needed after sweating during exercise. The chard provides plenty of antioxidants and helps to regulate your blood sugar and of course the protein powder and hemp seeds provides your protein along with plenty of vitamins!
1 Acai Smoothie Packet (unsweetened)
1/2 cup Vanilla Almond Milk
3 Dates, pits removed
2 Red Chard Leaves, remove stems
1 tbsp. Raw Coconut Butter or Oil
1 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder (I use garden of life raw protein)
1-2 tbsp. Hemp Seeds
A few Ice Cubes
Combine all ingredients into a blender. Blend until smooth. Top off with hemp seeds and enjoy!
